Josh grew up on the Central Coast of California, graduating high school in 2000 and coming to faith in 2002 at Calvary Chapel of Santa Maria. He later earned an AA in Biblical Studies from Calvary Chapel Bible College in 2004, where he met his wife, Jessica.

Married in 2005, they moved to Jessica’s home state of Washington, where they attended and served for eight years at Calvary Creekside in various ministries, including young adults and middle school.

In 2014, the Claborns were called to Charleston with a desire to serve Jesus and love His people. They planted a church in 2014 and in 2020 moved the church from Mt. Pleasant to West Ashley, renaming it Calvary Chapel West Ashley.

Josh and Jess have four children—Jude, Rylie, Adrie, and Grey—and a dog named Jack.
